At the top of Čiesti/Fuglåsen at Ceavccageađge/Mortensnes lies a large rock that from a distance looks like a bear. It is called Guovageađge/Bear Stone. The bear, guova, had a special position in pre-Christian Sami culture. The bear was considered to be an animal with special abilities and great power, and it was therefore important to be on good terms with it.
