Offering sites and holy places

Sami holy sites and offering stones have usually been connected to distinct or peculiar, natural rock formations, but could also be man-made of stone or wood. These are called sieidi in Sami.

In the Sami language Ceavccageađge/Mortensnes is named after one of the offering stones on the headland: the standing stone Ceavccageađge, which literally means "fish oil stone".
